Stopped here on a road trip for lunch. We had very good service from our server Melissa. That was the good part. We were underwhelmed by the food. I ordered veggie fajitas that were pretty good for about $7. My wife had a Southwest theme salad , also $7 ish, with black beans and corn. She did not want the cheese so Melissa gave her some guacamole instead, nice. Here is the problem, it was so little food. I think there was a tablespoon each max of corn and beans. Corn and beans are cheap! You should pile it on!
This is an issue I have with many restaurants. They smartly want to have vegetarian choices so they modify existing menu items by removing the meat. Meat is a high calorie food so to make the meal equivalent for a vegetarian you need to add other items such as tofu or tempeh or quinoa, etc. we aren't rabbits as many restaurantuers think. Throwing a salad at us will not bring the vegetarian dollars to your establishment.
I liked the decor inside and perhaps we would have enjoyed a dinner meal better with drinks.
Your salsa was horrible though, sweet canned tomatoes, yuck, we won't be back. Reluctantly, we will go to Chili's next door on our next trip to Brandon. -

Went to Tres Amigos today after it was recommended by a friend. We moved to Tampa 5 years ago and have not found a Mexican restaurant we call "favorite" yet.....that is until today.
The food was fantastic! The young lady behind the bar was extremely helpful and courteous. I got our order to go, and when I got home I couldn't believe the size of the portions, I ordered for two people and it could have fed four!
Great job guys and gals. You'll definitely be seeing more of us in the future. -

August 2019.
Seems like the three amigos need a fourth amigo to help adjust the flavor and freshness of the dishes served here.
I had the Ceviche, Blackened Fish Tacos, and a piece of a Steak Taco.
Chips and Salsa:
Chips are what you'd expect at a generic Mexican food restaurant. Salsa tastes like it's from a can/jar. Unpleasant.
Ceviche:
Mounded with shrimp and avocado, this ceviche is visually appealing. However, there was little to no flavor. Plus, tasted like the peppers used had turned bad.
Blackened Fish Tacos:
After the ceviche, we waited for about 45 minutes before the entrees arrived. The fillets in the tacos were vastly disproportionate and he lettuce smelled of rot.
Charro Beans:
An unpleasant, bitter taste in the seasoning.
Steak Tacos:
Meat was dry and cold. Appears to have been left sitting at the expeditor's station for too long.
Joe the manager was very kind, outgoing, and apologetic. -

Tables in the middle of the room with booths around the perimeter.
Waitresses and servers wearing black restaurant t-shirt tucked into their blue jeans.
Our waitress Abigail has service with a smile. Friendly and a go-get'er.
We had the chicken and steak fajitas. The tortillas are home made, warm and flavorful. The steak and chicken strips are cooked to perfection, and served on a bed of mainly onions with some red, green, and orange peppers. Would definitely recommend trying for anyone viewing the reviews wondering if this is a good place to eat. -

I really enjoyed this restaurant. I am surprised at the 3 rating. I went here about 4pm on a Saturday with a party of 3 and was seated immediately. There was a lot of empty tables. We were given pico de gallo and chips almost immediately. What I did notice was that he brought one pico de gallo for each person. I thought this was a great practice aside from double dippers sharing dip can be a little awkward sometimes. We got our food pretty fast. One person I was with had a chicken taco salad and the other had chimichangas. I had a steak quesadilla with Mexican rice and spicy black beans. It was really good. The black beans had the perfect amount of spice just hot enough. My quesadilla was great also. Our waiter was extremely nice and attentive. The decor is very authentic. I will definitely be checking them out again.
